Vanessa Bryant Speaks Up About Her Mothers Lawsuit Says Its Unimaginably Hurtful And

According to Vanessa Bryant, her own mother is apparently suing her for money that her late ex husband, Kobe Bryant, supposedly promised her before his death! That being said, the widow admitted that she was deeply hurt by her mom, Sofia Laine trying to ‘extort a financial windfall from’ her family after the tragedy that they went through.

As you know, this development comes after the terrible death of the legendary basketball star and their secondborn daughter, Gianna, 13.

The father and daughter were on board of a helicopter, alongside seven other people, when it unexpectedly crashed at the beginning of this year – there were no survivors.

Now, according to some brand new documents obtained by ET after being filed in Orange County Superior Court, Vanessa’s mom is suing her own daughter as well as the Kobe Bryant Trust, in order to get financial support!

Sofia claims that Kobe had ‘promised to take care’ of her for the rest of her life!’

However, she went on to write in her declaration that Kobe’s promises never got to be held due to obvious reasons.

Not only that but she insists that Vanessa has taken all steps to cancel her dead husband’s promises of money to her.

The woman claims in the same documents that she actually worked, without pay for the family as a nanny for the girls, and also as a personal assistant for Kobe and Vanessa.

In response, a rep for Vanessa shared via ET that ‘My mother’s continuing to try and find ways to extort financial windfall from our family. I’ve supported her for nearly 20 years, and she was never my or Kobe’s personal assistant, nor was she our nanny. I’ve always been a stay-at-home mom and my husband and I were our daughter’s full time caregivers. For nearly 2 decades, we arranged for my mom to live in our nearby properties, at no cost because she had claimed that she did not have money to buy her own home after her divorce. My husband and I felt that it was best for her not to live in our home.’

‘She watched our girls from time to time, like most grandparents do. She didn’t take care of business issues or of any expenses. She now wants to back charge me $96 per hour for supposedly working 12 hours a day for 18 years watching her own grandchildren,’ she said in part.

Vanessa went on to once again stress that she only ‘occasionally’ watched her older granddaughters when they were still toddlers.
